Out of Bounds Productions, is a student run film production company dedicated to telling stories that defy convention and challenge societal norms. Our mission is to step beyond the expected—exploring narratives that are often overlooked, rejected, or deemed as insignificant. By embracing stories that are outside of the standard, we aim to create bold, thought-provoking content that exists unapologetically out of bounds.

In October, our class travelled to Morocco for two weeks to film a documentary and devise a sustainable social justice initiative. Our mission was to deepen our understanding of and connect with the indigenous people of North Africa, the Amazigh. We traveled to the South of Morocco, where we met our two primary collaborators: a 19-year-old named Hanan and a 70-year-old named Fadma. Although their everyday lives look different, as Hanan lives in the city of Taroudant while Fadma lives in the rural town of Talinin Commune Tamaloukt, these women strive to preserve their culture in similar ways.
The Amazigh people are the indigenous inhabitants of North Africa united in a shared language fighting for their identity in post-colonial Morocco. Currently, the residents of Talinin Commune Tamaloukt must walk 4 km a day to get water from a well that is sometimes dry, often broken, and always unsafe to drink. With increasing amounts of residents leaving the town, the community’s ability to freely practice Amazigh culture and traditions is in jeopardy.

Our documentary aims to amplify their stories, showcasing their culture and shedding light on the issues they face, from access to clean drinking water to remnants of colonialism in the education system.
